Big Boss or Big Brother as it is widely known in other countries was a good format for those countries. So what happens when it comes to India, gets changed to Boss and then airs on a channel Ekta Kapoor doesn't consider competition? The answer is simple.........Nothing. The concept of the show is that 13 celebrities living together in a secluded bungalow for 3 months with cameras everywhere and anywhere you would least expect it to be. The only exception is the bathroom which is spared cos in a country like india, if u put cameras in bathrooms then the whole politics will come into play and not the in-show kind.
Anyways, onto the show. The Indianised version's participants are as follows:
Deepak Parasher: Yesteryear actor who appears in Ekta Kapoor serials trying to get more famous with this show which I don't think will help him in anyway. He wears a gown and headband and the rest of the contestants call him Nightiewale Baba.
Ravi Kishen: The Big B of Bhojpuri cinema acc to the promos but I think he sucks,lol. Anyways, this guy is a smooth talker, on one hand, he sings praises abt his fellow contestants and the next minute nominates them for eviction.
Rakhi Sawant: A name synonymous with item numbers, she is the wildcard among the bunch. She is frank, cool and composed and in an alliance with kashmera shah altho she doesn't know abt kashmera's intentions. She is the only one who wears makeup every single day after getting up.
Kashmera Shah: An item girl who claims herself to be an heroine. Hmm....i wonder how many movies she acted in as a heroine. She is the manipulative one of the bunch, she carefully plots out her move and executes them perfectly. Altho she is shown to be in an alliance with rakhi, it seems that its just for show and that she won't hesitate to nominate Rakhi Sawant for eviction. Also, she never does any work at all.
Rupali Ganguly: A television actress famous for her portrayal of Monisha Sarabhai in the show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. She is the crybaby or so we can assume after her tireless crying feat every single time on the show.
Anupama Verma: A fashion model with nothing to do and hoping that this show is her ticket to fame.
Aryan Vaid: A model/actor who is flirting with every female in the house and he apparently is more attracted towards anupama than anyone else. He also takes sides and is a upcoming manipulator.
Carol Gracious: A supermodel more famous for her now infamous wardrobe malfunction from last years lakme fashion week. She is more comfortable speaking English and her Hindi is pathetic but she is learning little by little. The frankest person on the show next to rakhi.
Amit Sadh: A tv actor engaged to Neeru Bajwa, another tv actor. He is the cool and composed guy among all the guys. He is the only one who has not fallen under kashmera's manipulations. He does what is right for himself.
Rahul Roy: The yesteryear actor from the movie Aashiqui also makes his presence felt in the show. He is the reticent kind on the show, he never talks much but lately he has been getting to know more about everyone.
Bobby Darling: Everybody knows who Bobby Darling is so I won't elaborate.
Deepak Tijori: Actor/Director who entered the house albeit late as a replacement for salil ankola who decided to leave the house after a court case which barred him from acting in any other show other than the ekta kapoor serial he had signed a contract for.
Ragini Shetty: She claims to be a south indian actress but she is in fact a spy for Big Boss himself. She comes across as a sweet person but her motives are unknown to everyone. She is actually not an actress but is playing one in the show.
So far, the show has been good but its kinda bad to see people bitching about everyone and anyone. Kashmera Shah is the biggest manipulator in the show, she needs to go quickly cos she is really bad but still she makes for interest in the show.
A good show if you like reality shows.
