I had a very rude experience with one of the bigflix outlets when I was returning a movie. I was told that the DVD is broken and so I will have to pay the full price (printed MRP) of the DVD and I could take the dvd with me forever. When I looked real close at the DVD the plastic was cracked a few millimeters, but, that part did not have any recoding on it, it was just plain plastic part. I asked the employee to put the DVD on player and check whether it is working or not. I was sure that the DVD would work as there was no damage to the recodings part.

I was told that "Even though the DVD might work, since it was chipped off, I will have to pay the full MRP." How ridiculous can the big business house (Anil Ambani group) be? Imagine demanding the full price of the DVD which was already rented multiple number of times (and so bigflix had already made few times more money than the cost of the DVD) and also had numerous scratches on it.

There are many times that bigflix dvds are so scratched that the movie gets stuck many times in the run. How come we are made to suffer a poor movie experience but for a innocent crack (which I am not sure happened due to me, the dvd could be weak in that part due to multiple prior usages and I could be the unfortunate victim when it really succumbed) you are made to pay the entire dvd amount?

Also, shouldn't the business model of such big business house be accomodating to such things when it is conceived? It is really unfortunate how they behave in such a rude, apathetic way and lose a customer forever and more importanly lower the brand value in the eyes of consumer. :-(
