My most worst experience dealing with BIG TV

This was the first reliance product I had ever bought in my life, and could say the last one in my life again. I did hear about the poor customer service from reliance etc etc from numerous people before buying the product, but I had put all that aside assuming nothing could really going wrong with product like DTH, and really should be a trouble free relationship with the vendor.


Now coming to my horrendous story -


Bought the setup box, and was happy with the kind of equipment given for such small price with an year's membership in my bag, The vendor probmised me that the connection should be active within 4 hours,  and he made some calls to the big tv customer and raised an work order number for the installation and connection activation


At this stage I was happy with everything and was postive about my deal. Trouble started when the time started ticking after 4 hours, then to the next day, and so on until 12 days. I had religiously called everyday to the customer service, only to know that they are still working, and been promised that someone would attend within another 1 day, sometimes they said that the engineer would walk in another 1 hour, and Sometimes they simply abruptly cut the connection. The 12 days was horrifying experience I could not forget. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAD EVER CAME ACROSS IN MY LIFE.


Finally after the installation took place, everything seemed OK, and thought really nothing would go wrong with connection, and would throw this sh*t out after a year, and dont have deal with such customer service again.  Twenty days passed thru without any problems, but one fine day the channels blued out, all I can see is an blue screen. Initially I did few basic check ups, as suggested in the document, but it wasa futile effort. The signal quality was good, but simply the blue screen appeared. Again customer service, it was Deejavu....  This time they set a record 20 days to fix my problem, they were getting better at giving worst service... :-)


I cannot comment on the video and sound quality in detail, but could say that its average. Maybe can write another review on this aspect another time. Moreover I could only comment on this if I could continually view and then assess. Downtime was 70% and uptime 30% until now. Such is the state, and only hope I do not have any further problems and interaction with these guyz. Touch wood!


By the way the channel navigation software on the setup box is horribly slow at times, it takes eternity to work sometimes.


Big TV is cheap but comes with cheap service. Beware. I am repenting very badly for the choice I had made, If iam new buyer, I would rather settle with other DTH services paying some more premium, because by the end of the day I know I would assured good service.


A BIG NO-NO for Big TV, and for that matter lost hopes on Reliance (ripple effect), and taken oath not to venture into another Reliance service again in my Life.


I would recommend all the new Buyers to stay away from BIG TV.
