Yes. the service is not that bad as we read in the web reviews(this is my personal opinion based on my experience in Bangalore, please excuse).
I bought BIG TV for Rs.2190/- from reliance outlet in Bangalore, things went smooth, installation was done on time. I was happy because I could see all my regional channels as well as hindi and news channels. My package was smart south pack 2190 which had sports channels as well.
Clarity was good and we enjoyed the free one month cinema halls, overall experience was nice.
I also find that the local cable guys are taking rs 260 per month and service is not that good, Regional channels of my choice are not available. So we started our experiment,
After six months, issues started. My set top box restarts by itself and with out any warning.bad. It was really a issue with the software and as I was new to this I did not have any clue what to do.
Called customer care.after 15 times of calling got connected .thanks. they registered a complaint and assured service guys will visit my place.
Yes, next day I received call from local service guy, he came with huge box which contained lots of Set top boxes and tried to experiment one by one. All are showing the same issue!
I was just wondering what will happen allast.? Tooo bad!
Finally he fixed a new set top box and updated the software version. It worked.! Thank god!
Next day. same issue with the new box, I called the local guy again and he explained a technique to solve this issue. hold the v+ and v- key and unplug the power supply and replug it back. Software update will start and complete by it self.Thanks. It worked after that no issues.
After some months my building owner required my dish antenna to relocate to different place of the building because he required to do some maintainence at the place where the antenna is fixed. I called the customer care, they told I need to Pay Rs. 1000/- for this even though it is in the same building. This is too much! if I pay 1000 extra I could get a new set!
NO, I tried myself, unscrewed the antenna and placed it near my balcony and after some trials was able to get the signals and if worked! This we did as a temporary arrangement
After two weeks we got service of a local electrician to fix the antenna to our wall. Done only Rs.150 spared. so reliance was eating 850 rs for this small issue.
Now my one year over. I need to recharge. went to retailer and asked him rs 2000/- coupons. so that I can continue my subscription, he told no issue he will do it online, took the money and did not give me anything is return.
Till next day, nothing was done. my account was not recharge, called him again, he told "some technical issue, will be done"
day 3, I lost my temper and went to the shop and asked him what is the issue.he said some blag. blag. so I demanded receipt of 2000 rs. He gav e that in a plain paper. After coming home, again I called and shouted at him.
Finally he did the recharge, but for rs 1000/- I was worried, where did my remaining amount go? he told it will done the very next day. idiot
At last after lots of fighting and threats from my side he done the recharge of remaining amount! my bad.
I lost 150 rs discount because of this, and heard that this is how the dealers are cheating the users!
Beware of the retailer on venkitapura main road, koramangala, bangalore
So Lessons learned: **Recharge only from reliance web world or from online.
Good product . Bad support.
So you need some technical knowledge and you can do all by yourselves.and say Big TV is good.
