Game Shows have always been a fascination in India. Right from Bonvita Quiz Contest to Kaun Banega Crorepati, we loved it all. On the other hand we always look down upon the Saas-Bahu sagas. Big Money - Chotai Parde Ka Bada Game Show is NDTV imagine’s new creation, it can be termed as a game show but it has nothing to enhance your knowledge. On the contrary it’s an attempt to make the audience hooked to the Idiot Box for Big Money…! The show is hosted by Bollywood actor Madhavan.
About the Concept:
There are four participants belonging to a family/extended family. The total prize money to be won is 1 crore. At every level the family individually answers a question, so there are four questions at each level. The prize money to be won at level one is One Lakh, which hikes upto 1 crore. Of all the eight levels, the third one is termed as the Secured level, after clearing it the participants are assured of winning atleast 3 Lakhs even if they miss out on giving the correct answers later.
The Questions:
A family gets to choose one category out of two. The four questions are based on that particular category. Based on their choice of the category a video clip is shown or direct questions are asked. The categories aren’t the same and differ each time. There are two options to a question till level three and four options at the later levels.

> Cold Drink Piyo / Chewing Gum Chabau.
> Guest Appearance / Filmi PurnaJanam
> Tv kai Sasural / Classic Cartoons.
> Serial kai Kirdaar / Dance show Dhamakaidaar.
Terminology:
> Three Insurances: The Life Lines in KBC are termed as insurance here. They are Pass, Exchange & Family Discussion. After clearing level three a family gets an extra insurance.
> Fix: We Locked it, Freezed it and now we Fix the answers..!
About the Host: Madhavan seems to have learnt a lot from the hosts of all the previous game shows. He is successful at giving his best but when the concept of the show falls flat neither a Host nor a Ghost can save it from sinking.

My Opinion: If you love watching the soaps and you wish to check how good your grasping power is… This show is for you... The questions which are based on Soaps, Advertisements, Reality shows can no where help a sensible mind... The only motive of this show is to get back the once upon a time lost audience who is now no longer impressed by the K factor. If u are sane and wish to remain the same, stay away from this one..!
