Martin Lawrence serves up yet another hit comedic performance in Big Momma's House. Lawrence stars as Malcolm Turner, an FBI Agent who travels with his partner to Cartersville, Georgia, in order to track down an escaped murderer and bank robber, Lester. Sheri, Lester's ex-girlfriend, is anticipated to go to Cartersville with her son, Trent, to hide at her Grandmother's house and stay safe from her angry ex. Sheri's real grandmother is called away from home, so Malcolm, an undercover expert and master of disguise, decides to dress up as Big Momma.

This film is a laugh a minute, but it also has its (few) serious, suspenseful, and touching moments. A cross between Mrs. Doubtfire, The Nutty Professor and Bad Boys, Big Momma's House will entertain you the entire time you're there.

Unlike many people, I really enjoy watching Martin Lawrence -- especially when he portrays someone in law enforcement. (For example, Blue Streak and Bad Boys.) He and Nia Long (who plays Sheri) have a great deal of on-screen chemistry, though not enough to make it really believable. Lawrence's interaction with the child actor who portrayed Trent, however, is phenomenal.

Much to my dismay, the only stunts were jumping over a fence, falling out of a tree, and an amusing fight scene at the end of the film. Compared to the other cop movies I mentioned above, the stunts in Big Momma's House are mediocre at best. This is the only element of the movie in which I was disappointed.

It's a good movie to see on a rainy afternoon, especially if you'd like to laugh. If you don't like Martin Lawrence, definitely don't see this movie.
