Big Brother is now in its 2nd season here in England, as is very nearly at a close. On 27 July we will find out which one of the remaining 4 contestants will be £70,000 richer!
The show consists of 1 house, 24 camera's and 10 housemates all sharing a house. Each week, the contestants will nominate 2 housemates who they would like to be evicted from the Big Brother house. Each week the numbers will dwindle. We, the public, decides whom we would like to see evicted by phoning a number.
Each week, they are given a task to undertake. They bet a percentage of their food shopping money on the task. Ie, if they feel pretty confident that they will pass, they might bet 50% of the shopping money. If they win, they increase their shopping. If they fail, the shopping drops by 50%. They are filmed 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
It's a pretty difficult thing to do, and to live in a house with strangers, they have to learn all about each other, and about each other's ways.
The show, I find, isn't quite as good as last time round, but it is still very enjoyable to watch. There has been a lot going on in the house, and soon one of them will be rich. I will update this opinion as soon as possible after the 27th.
The show originated in Holland, and has stormed around the world making it a success wherever it went. The only thing I've got against the show, is that I don't think £70,000 prize money is nearly enough!
