It was such a huge mistake to buy furniture from Big Bazaar! All this fancy advertising about the Great Indian Sale and all that, but the moment you pay the money you discover that customer service or satisfaction does not really come into the Big Bazaar scheme of things. I bought a metal double bed from Big Bazaar on the first day of this sale, which was the 13th of December, I think. It was delivered on the day they said it would, but then the harassment began in earnest.
The elusiveness of the fitting guys is unbelievable. It's as if they are the busiest people on earth, and the customer's time doesn't really mean anything. Day after day, we were told that the fitting guy would come at 6 in the evening; there'd be nobody till 8; I'd start calling but get no information; and finally at 9 in the night they'd say that the guy is busy with some other customer so he cannot do your work. By the way, a customer is not important enough for them to receive the calls. When you need important information, it is nowhere to be found.
Perhaps the worst thing is that they lie to you outright. At no point will the Big Bazaar salespeople or managers tell you that it will take some time to get the work done. Talk is all "yes Madam, tomorrow 100%"! But then tomorrow comes and goes but nothing gets done. The whole point of paying so much to buy from a brand name is that one wants to avoid all the hassle that, with Big Bazaar, you have to suffer anyway! Terrible!
I've learnt my lesson well. Next time, I won't set foot in that place to buy even a toffee or mineral water! Those of you who are planning to take advantage of the sale, you may find it's you who's being taken advantage of!
