A little too long for my liking

When the movie's interval came up in half an hour I was left wondering if this movie could actually be wrapped up in 2 hours. To be absolutely honest if this movie was wrapped up in 2 hours it would have been perfect, but it went on a little too long for my liking. Anyway, the movie was a little different and there are a couple of useless antics thrown into the movies which were best left out. To begin with Rajpal Yadav’s role was pointless and should have been left out altogether(not to mention his type of comedy is getting to be boring). Akshay Kumar played a fantastic comedy role again and his antics ensured that the movie did not get boring in the first half. However, even Akshay Kumar could not keep the movie from dragging on in the second half.

Shiney Ahuja has done a decent job, but my favourite role in the movie was without a doubt Vidya Balan, she has done full justice to her role and I enjoyed what she did in the movie. The role of Amisha Patel is pretty much cosmetic, she was just another ‘add in’ to the movie. Paresh Raval should have been given more of a role to do; he started out strong but got lost after Akshay Kumar’s role unfurled. The cinematography is pretty okay and there was nothing exceptional in terms of effects and camera work throughout the work. But cinematography has never been Priyadarshan’s strong suite.

The movie would be fantastic if it can be done in 2 hours, it would be short and snappy. But I guess Indian cinema still has a long way to go before 2 hour movies are the norm. There were a couple of un-necessary songs thrown in which could have been dispensed with, Priyadarshan is making a habit of a credits song, and the current one was ‘Hare Ram Hare Krishna’ and I love it! Good music, more importantly as far as I know ORIGINAL music and some groovy English and Hindi Music mixed.

So to sum it up, would I recommend you watch Bhool Bhulaiya? Well unless Laga Chunari Main Daag is your cup of tea, this is pretty much the safest bet around when it comes to Bollywood Movies.

As always no revealing the plot.
