...<16th feb>, the SIM of my prepaid card (chennai circle) was damaged. I go to AIRTEL center offices to buy a new one. but they wouldn't give one. Reason? the company's 'activation' services of SIMS was being redone. result? I have to wait ' at least for a week'. lady replies 'Sorry sir. its like this sir'.
<23rd feb>- a week later- I go and ask ; again- same reply!
26th >feb I get a SIM card (at last)...but no, the trouble is not over- its not ACTIVATED! ' it would take only <48 hours >sir!) - hallejullah! - says me, and then <48 >becomes <96-> 'comes <192 >hours.
callsto the AIRTEL 24 hr help (sic) line are quite simply of no help what with d promises from half-baked call centre guys that ' I will ensure its done within 4 hours, sir'' <18-19 calls >were made...thats true !!!
the ACTIVATION happens on the 8th, a good 21 days after. but WAIT, WAIT !- here's the catch- the balance on the SIM (around rs. 600 ) is not valid now !.....validity period ended on 28th feb. now I have to to make a call.so what it wasnt my fault and couldn't call 'cos the SIM wasn't provided? the customer care guy is (least) concerned. ' sorry sir. that's the rule sir, I will tell my seniors sir. I will call u back, sir!'' (again).
two weeks later, I am waiting. any other country (?) a consumer call would have ensured beter response? . at least an extension of the customers validity, it being special case. but will I get some justice. FORGET IT! ...at least, concern? NO!
I ask you, WHAT'S the point releasing ads with super celebrities and promising the earth when u cant provide basic-real BASIC - amenities/courtesies/ facilities....does anyone care? well, I am just expressing myself
