I want to share my personal experience with all of you so that nobody falls in the tricks of airtel and get looted.


I purchased 2 consecutive number 98______96, 97, both under the same plan(Youth Plan) for Rs, 299 each. The tarrifs which they said were STD for Rs. 1.25, Airtel to Airtel 25 paise at night and 50 paise in the day, and other numbers at 50 paise at night and 1 rupee flat in the day and all local sms at 25 paise and it came with a validity of six months.


The tarrifs thay promised lasted only for two months and after that they started charging STD at 2.5 and sms at re1 and airtel and other numbers also at re1. I complained this thing to the customer care department and they said that the airtel had dropped the plan and it has been changed to the normal airtel number now. I asked that I haven't recieved any intimation for the same for which they replied that its the sole discretion of the company to change any plan at any time without intimating to anybody.


As my number was spread in my whole friend and office circle so I was not able to change the number and I had to keep it. Again when I called the customer service for some other options, many of the executives simply dropped the call, almost all answered the call in hindi while I opted for english as the language for conversation. Also the knowledge given by all the exegutives was different for any specific plan as if they were not aware of what they are saying.


i escalated the matter to a manger in airtel and also visited the Airtel office in Okhla, but nothing came out of any use.


Few days back I started getting sms saying " ab paiye 100 sms bilkul muft, simply sms SB to 170 TOLL FREE)... I did that and Rs.25 got deducted from my account. I again comp;laibned for which nobody listen. Then I visited Airtel office at jail Road in New Delhi and the executive their told me that its a paid service. I showed him the sms for which he said that SB stands for Subscribe. I asked him that then how is the service free, for which he replied that the sms Sb to 170 is only free.


I am stil getting such sms on a daily basis and that too a number of times.


Did anybody else face the same issue???


On an all the airtel is only looting the customers and not providing any customer service.


I have mailed this complaint to airtel and got an autoreply that our executive will call you in 24-72 hours, but nobody had called back in 10 months.


Now I have lodged the complaint in consumer care too but that also in vain


It seems everybody had turned deaf and nobody is listening.
