I have a RPG connection. No complaints. My travels are very frequent so I thought that giving a mobile to my wife and using SMS would be a good idea. So, I got her a Post Paid Bharti (AIRTEL) connection.

Problems that she faces are:

Virtually impossible to send messages thru SMS. Repeated complaints, showing the phone to the airtel shop to check the settings etc., proved futile. To top it all, they never bother. They say, on the other hand that the receiver's(my RPG cell phone) msg box must be full. I have a practice of deleting messages no sooner than I read it. I ALWAYS leave my msg box empty. And, I keep getting SMS from all and sundry without any hitch.

Next frustration is that I went with last months bill on which they had dobbed a ''late payment'' fee! I had the previous paid bill copy (which was paid by cash) and then for three days in a row their system was down! The guys at the Teleshop tell me to pay the late fee and later adjust it. Why should I? They generally try to act smart. Couple of months ago, I had sent my driver to pay the bill and since they did not have change, they coolly gave a receipt for the full amount and said that the excess would be adjusted from the next bill. So, they use my money free!

I have been unable to get any help at all from them.

If this is their attitude, then I am sure that they will lose customers soon. Maybe all the users of Bharti/Airtel are a contented lot, but I sure ain't one.

I pay good money and expect good service. Tomorrow, I am going to switch to RPG.
