This review is about the horrific experiences that my dad and I encountered at the hands of various customer care executives at Bharti AXA, while trying to safely receive a hard copy of the car insurance policy document.


My dad recently bought a brand new Renault Scala and without any objection, chose to purchase a car insurance policy in his name, provided by Bharti AXA, which Renault applied for, on my dad's behalf, about a couple of weeks before my family and I were due to take delivery of our new car.


Purchasing a car insurance policy from Bharti AXA, was the worst possible decision that was made in a very long time!


For starters, my dad and I had to make over 16 phone calls to Bharti AXA's customer care helpline, over the next couple of weeks, in order to literally plead with several customer care executives, to send a hard copy of the insurance policy document! My dad has always believed in having a hard copy of the car insurance policy document, as this is one of the most important documents(apart from the RC Smart Card, issued by the concerned State Government) that demonstrates genuine ownership of the vehicle! My dad has had a driving license for over 35 years and had every right to be concerned! We also did not appreciate various customer care executives carelessly insisting that a mere PDF copy of the insurance policy document sent via email(which by the way, did not even have the correct vehicle registration number, even though it had been over 4 weeks since the car had been registered with the local RTO) was a legitimate copy of the policy document!


To top it all, we even had to make additional phone calls to not only provide the correct vehicle registration number, but to also correct a mistake in the spelling of my dad's name!


Just when we thought that our troubles were over, when customer care finally agreed to send a hard copy, a lady customer care executive who was put in charge of our case, sent us a tracking number of the parcel that contained our policy document. Upon logging in to the website of the concerned courier service that was handling the shipping of our parcel, we discovered that the tracking number sent to us, was over 45 days old and did not exist! That was the last straw on the camel's back! Is it that difficult to send a hard copy of an insurance policy document?!


After a stern exchange of words with a manager at the local Renault showroom from where our car was purchased, we managed to get the direct phone number of a manager at one of Bharti AXA's offices in Bangalore. Sure enough, within a week of getting in touch, the hard copy of our car insurance policy document, arrived at our home, safe and sound!


Oh and we finally received the document, nearly 4 months after the car had been registered with the RTO.


Never have I or my dad come across such careless and apathetic customer care executives!


After all this heartache, my dad has decided to buy car insurance, from Bajaj Allianz, instead, after the expiry of the current insurance policy.
