I have been a paid member at Bhartmatrimony.com for the past 5 months. The experience wasn't a pleasant one. Main issues:
Website design and usability: Issues I faced here are poor load time of web pages, non working links, opening images in full-screen view was an absolute nightmare.
Searching for profiles: As per my search criteria, it was very difficult to ignore profiles I already viewed or contacted or even shortlisted. Marking profiles as viewed is a headache because when you click on it, a pop-up window will open(in approximately 5 seconds) and confirm if you want to ignore a profile. Another 5 seconds after you click "Yes'. To ignore profiles you feel are not upto your expectations, you need to spend a lot of time. And if you don't do this, you'll get the same people in your search results. Effectively, you are forced to make a choice from what is available - of course you won't have the time to review 29, 942 profiles. In the end, you have to make do with what's available and what you been looking at for the past several months.
Doesn't live to what it should be: This a matrimony site. Its for those who want to get married. Of all the people I met, 80% are not sure if they really want to settle down or not.
100% mobile verified. Really?: You got to be kidding me. Came across some profiles that didn't have legitimate mobile numbers. That's not 100%.
Dead profiles: Lots of them. Members who haven't logged in for months.
My membership is valid another month. After that, I think Jeevansathi would be a better bet.
Bharatmatrimony's average rating is 1 star on Mouthshut, while JeevanSaathi's is 3 stars. Lets see how JeevanSaathi is. Will post my comparative review between these 2 sites soon.
