The ideals and values propagated by this serial are the worst.

The lead hero Bharathi is expected to be forgiven by the heroine Kannamma after all his derogatory words and actions towards her for a whopping 10 years, which started when Kannamma was pregnant. Bharathi's family, society, and even Kannamma's children consider Kannamma as "adamant" after she stands up for herself, but forgive Bharathi easily for his "mistakes".

Almost 900 episodes were dragged out only by Bharathi's foolish and adamant stand of not taking a DNA test. Also, Kannamma could have forced Bharathi legally to take the test to prove her innocence. But no! She couldn't bear the "humiliation" of going to court but can face constant abuse and gaslighting from Bharathi and his mother Soundarya, about whom we will see next.

The character of Soundarya is the epitome of selfishness. She supports Kannamma as long as her son is not affected. She has the audacity to steal Kannamma's child Hema and then not return the child to Kannamma after Kannamma realizes the truth about Lakshmi and Hema being twins, all because Kannamma does not have real support.

Soundarya does not take any real action to give justice to her daughter-in-law, because then her son's feelings will be hurt, and thus "requests" Kannamma to adjust with Bharathi. She then expects Kannamma to forgive Bharathi without any repercussions for his actions, and when she does not, she tells Bharathi that "she won't change" and tells him not to wait for her, even after the fact that Kannamma waited 10 years for him.

Hema(Kannamma and Bharathi's daughter, Lakshmi's younger twin sister) is a character who constantly gaslights Kannamma to get what she wants. She threatens suicide when Kannamma hides her father's identity for her own good and threatens to leave her when she does not reconcile with Bharathi.

The only tolerable characters were Lakshmi(Kannamma and Bharathi's daughter, Hema's elder twin sister), Kannamma, and Akilan(Bharathi's brother). Lakshmi's acting was great in portraying her longing for her father's affection and her desire for her parents to be reunited while understanding Kannamma's pain. Akilan was the only sensible character who understands the extent of Bharathi's actions and Kannamma's pain.

But, guess what happens?

Instead of Bharathi working long and hard for Kannamma's forgiveness, Kannamma is forced to forgive and accept Bharathi fearing her children would leave her for Bharathi under the pretense of having "love" for him. Happy ending right?:)

The villain Venba's acting was also commendable even though her character was sub-par at best. Roshini's portrayal of Kannamma for the first 600-ish episodes was the only part that can be enjoyed.

But, then again what can be expected from a serial with illogical characters and an even worse storyline?

The serial is an example of wasted potential, in terms of both the actors and the plot. It is unfortunate that this serial which was loved by its fans initially is now one which spews negativity at every turn.
