I wish to bring to your notice an incident at BPCL petrol pump Magar Petroleum near Magarpatta City (Pune). On 23rd Aug 2012 when I took my car to fill the petrol, the car has around 15 liters of petrol. I was approached by one BPCL attendent and he asked me about the quantity of petrol to be filled. I informed him to completely fill the tank. I opened the petrol tank lead. The moment I came out the same attendant asked me about cleaning the windshield. Moreover he was not the guy who was filling the petrol. The other attendent directly showed me the count on the machine which was stopped at Rs.500 with the nossel inside the petrol tank. He told me that by mistake he put only Rs. 500 worth of petrol in the car. After that he was waiting to put more petrol and informed me that he is waiting to use his token again because if he uses it immediately then the same will get locked. After sometime he used his token on his wrist and refilled the tank. They charged me Rs. 1760 for 23.32 liter. When I came home I realised that I have been cheated for 6 liters of petrol (Rs. 500) because I maintain the petrol refilling records and every time when I refill the tank it never crosses 17 liters.
I just wish to bring it your notice since it happened second time with me at the same petrol pump. The cash memo number is 51660.
BPCL took this complaint (Complaint Number: C000050944) and Mr. Shinde from BPCL asked me to meet Mr. Shirish Magar (Owner of the petrol pump) at Magar petrol pump so that he can explain me about the automation of his petrol pump. I went to the Magar Petrol Pump on 19th Sept 2012 to discuss about the incident happened with me. Mr. Dhanajay Gaikwad, the manager of this petrol pump, spoke to me. I explained him the case in detail. At one point he was ready to refund me Rs.500 in cash however one other guy stopped him and asked to call Mr. Magar for confirmation.
After lot of discussions, Mr. Magar asked me to write my name and contact number and assured that he will call me on 20th Sept 2012. However, I did not receive any call from him throughout the day. Hence I called him at 7:27 pm on 20th Sept 2012. He informed me that he can not do anything about this case. He failed to answer my question about hand written bill as well and still he was claiming that his petrol pump is fully automated which is a false statement.
It was most disappointing experience I had with BPCL and Magar Petrol pump. I just thought of sharing this with all of you so that at least you can avoid such incidents.
