One of the sweetest experiences from my Agra diaries. I had been to this place long back when I visited Agra as a child, it was nice to see that the place had been renewed and refashioned to suit modern times. But I wanted to see whether the taste for which the place is so famous has remained the same and it did not disappoint, after all these years it still retains it.
Ambiance - The last time I remember it was a bit cramped and for a 4 foot me it was also a bit suffocating, things have changed, It is more an open area today, spotlessly clean with very good seating arrangements made(which was lacking the last time), You can choose to stand and eat or relax while taking a bite of your favorite sweets. Full marks for ambiance.
Food - This place is especially known for its mawa barfi. They also have a very good chaat section, the pick of which is bhalla or'tikki' as we call it in western and southern states. The golgappe had a distinct taste, they use some king of mango made chutney in it. Overall brilliant experience with the food here.
Cost and Service - The service was prompt and the management was extremely friendly, they also helped us with selecting some good sweets we can take home, they actually allowed us to taste them all, I ended up eating at least 100 gms of mawa barfi before taking 1 kg more. They are actually selling it at a throwaway price. They also allowed us to enter the kitchen to take some photos and it too was cleaner than expected.
Overall, as I claimed earlier it was my sweetest experience of Agra, do visit it when you go there. I actually had promised them a review when I returned.
