What a film! Based on the life of the legendary athlete Milkha Singh also known as The Flying Sikh , this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film is an absolute stunner. The film is a bit long at 3 hours and 10 minutes , but then again it is not boring. The film undoubtedly belongs to Farhan Akhtar and his talent comes alive on the screen.
He has completely devoted himself to the character of Milkha Singh. He is brilliant and gives a performance which many talented actors would find it hard to accomplish. Sonam Kapoor has a very small role. Divya Dutta is fantastic as Milkha Singh's sister and she aces in the emotional roles. Pawan Malhotra is fantastic. We get to see the brilliant South actor Prakash Raj (villain of Wanted, Singham & Dabangg 2) in very different role from what he usually does in Bollywood.
He is excellent in the role of an Army Man. Yograj Singh ( father of Yuvraj Singh ) is perfect as Milkha's coach. Rebecca Breeds is good as the Aussie girlfriend of Milkha. The child who played the role of young Milkha is very good. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra gives an epic again after Rang De Basanti. His direction is first rate and stylish. Shankar Ehsaan Loy's music is good especially the energetic Zinda and the beautiful O Rangrezz. Overall Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is an excellent film.
The film is very much inspirational. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra added another feather to his cap after Rang De Basanti. This film is all about Farhan Akhtar. Watch it for Farhan's superlative and more than excellent performance. And watch it to know the interesting and inspirational story of the legend Milkha Singh.
