I wasn't really into Heavy Metal until I became a Maiden fan in 1996. I know that's late considering that this group has been rocking the Planet from the beginning of the 1980's, but it's never to late to try. I bought my first Maiden album ''The Number of the Beast'', on a trial basis. Well...that was it!! From that moment on I was hooked.
The statistics that accompany Maiden's career are impressive (over 50 million albums sold; 13 Top Ten albums in the UK, including three Number Ones; legendary strength - sapping world tours etc). But Maiden stand for much more than that. A people's band in every sense of the word, Maiden represent an entire community of music fans.
Coming to Best of the Beast ,this is an Iron Maiden Best Of album. The songs have all been remastered and sound absolutely great. Disk one includes a new track called Virus that is a pretty good song. There is a Live version of Afraid To Shoot Strangers that Bayley does and he pulls it of quite well. The album came in a book format and is well illustrated. Many interesting things can be found in this compilation such as a tree that illustrates the history of the band.
It is an Album Somewhere up the Irons.....
