Yup a month after the world cup fever is over n when v r feeling all nostalgic abt the weeks of excitement n the fun,this movie comes as a breath of fresh air,making us sit up ,laugh n enjoy n savour every single moment.
Gurinder Chaddha's 'Bend It Like Beckham ' is by far one of the most entertaining movies I have seen so far.It is a perfect mix of family,romance,grit,determination N of course a large helping of Beckham n football.(well who would mind that?????).
The story beginns with the life os a typical punjabi girl jasvinder(parminder Nagra) living in London with her typical ,convetional punjabi parents .well what is the matter of concern here is that they both like geometry of circles n spheres but of different kind:Jas wants to kick a round football around ,but her parents want her to lean 2 make those perfect round rotis.There begins the story of conflict,a story of grit ,deceit ,guilt ,a light romance and a lotta laughs.The parents then Ban here from entering the field again!Will Jass really quit futball?will she settle down with a nice indian boy like her sister n make AlooGobi?
the story also weaves in another girl as passionate abt futball like Jass -Juliet n hee family .Her mom who wants her daughter to be more feminine ,get a boyfriend settle donmw and an indulgent father.what abt jules N jass?will they play proffessional or will they succumb to family pressures n tie down?
U definetly need 2 catch the movie 4 that m trust me the movie will leave u with a smile on ur face.
The cast is the shining lite of the movie-each one so natural n so hilarious.Parminder nagra,anupam kher,jonathen rhys Meyers and the rest of the cast are simply adorable.Another major trump card the movie has is its music -right from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to Mel C to Bally n finally the Icing on the cake-Bina's Hot hot hot;The movie hall faintly resembled one,v had the entire crwod grooving to the songs with the typical Bhanga n then the mexican wave for 'Hot hot hot' man it was amazing the whole crowd jus stood up n went dancing for the songs...N the sponataneous clapping 4 the futball matches brought back very fond memories of 'lagaan'.
on the whole BILB is a juke box of amazing cast,great story,superb comedy n mindblowing music .Catch it NOW!!!!!!!
