I had used fitness one gym in 2006 and after that I have been using the odd gyms in countries or cities I was travelling.i have joined this gym in 2009 in october.
So here is my take on it.
The gym has a good feel and is spacious.
The machines are good though there is no machine for stretching or rowing like in fitness one.
There is tv but no audio to plug into and listen.just visuals.
The warm up routine reminds you of the pt class in school.very very poor. The pilates training is not there unlike what they claim on their boards.do not expect it .and when it come it will be separate an paid.
The instructors stay with you most of time on weight training of the workout if u need them around.otherwise some of them are watching tv most of the time .
There is no document nothing given when u join in.no proof at all.
The fee is random .noone knows what their price is .they never disclose what their standard price is for couples and offline hours.it is all negotiable.
They tell u their instuctors are better so they charge more.honestly I have seen better instructors at other gyms here.they are just average .do not expect anything.their being physiotherapist impresses but they did not say anything which might help.
The bathrooms are not in the changing room.they are on the floor above.that means u go and pick up all ur belongings fom the changing room locker.for me its my workbag , gymbag , shoes and purse.go one floor above fit all ur saddle in one of the lockers if u get any whose lock works .u r lucky if u can get a locker that u can lock in the bathroom.
The shampoo and shower gel is immensely bad quality and it smells awful.please use ur own soap if u can.
No shower caps are provided.
No towels are provided even initially like fitness one when u joined.
There is no health magazine or related stuff available there to read.all u see are beauty magazines.
Dietician reviews have become paid.
There is a weird rule that u have to change shoes for the gym.u cannot wear your shoes from home and start ur workout and they are obsessive about it .u need to come in one pair in the gym and change into another for ur workout .so watch out.there is no such rule in the high end gyms you can use.
There is no proper routine body checks.the onus is on you to schedule .the only time they do it is at the time of joining when they need ur money.
They have no tissue papers or paper towels in changing rooms.all that is hanging there is toilet rolls which they expect u to use on your face !
There is no water dispenser in the gym area.they fill water bottles and u r expected to drink from the bottle directly .there are no glasses provided. The bottles are shared by others and god knows how others may be drinking from it.fitness one has paper glasses and water cooler with option for cool and hot on the gym floor.i cannot use a shared bottle so this becomes a big hassle for me.and they talk about hygiene .
The ac is there.but you will find that a lot of time it is not on when u work out. It is closed on Sunday. Now they open till 11 or 12.i am not sure .
All in all it claims its a premium gym and from first looks it does appear to.but once they get you to join you experience their unprofessional quality in details like unhygienic water bottles, toilet rolls not much follow up of your weight , fat/stamina except first time because they have already got your money. Nothing great so do not expect value for money here.if u do not care for the little details it is just fine as a basic gym.
I am very disappointed that I chose this gym at such prices.i plan to leave it as soon as membership ends.
