I and my family had been to a trip to Karnataka and had stopped in Belgaum for a short break which turned out to be an additional trip with our planned tour. Its a quiet and nice city.
Basically Belgaum comes within Karnataka but since it is at the borders of the state, we found a mix of Maharashtrian and Goan culture in the localites. We had visited Belgaum in the monsoons and the rains just added to the city's scenic beauty.
We got to see the beautiful Dudhsagar WaterFalls and Godchinamalaki Falls, for which monsoons are the best time for visit. We heard many stories about the Belgaum Fort but could not accomodate that in our trip. So it would definately be on our list for our next trip.
There are a number of good resorts around the place so accomodation was not a problem. Your stay in Belgaun would be incomplete without tasting the famous Belgaum speciality sweet, 'Belgaum Kunda'. All in all a very wonderful experience.
