I am here again to share notes of my jouney at Shantha with you. I heard a nudget innumerable times from the founders that they started the company out of emotions without any finacial motive. Well, it could be possible. We Indians are emotional and many of our decisions are taken in a spurt of emotions. I am sure the founder was choked with those emotions when he took a call to manufacture hepatitis B vaccine in India. But soon after his emotiones evaporated and he was lloking only profits.
That is why the quality of Hepatitis B vaccine has been deteriorated exponentially in three years. I will write more of the quality deterioration some other day. After working like a true enterpreneur for six long years, MR Varaprasad reddy could taste the blood. However, in this journey of all these six years he could make many friends in Acedemia, Industry, Society, Films and politics. He is a man of networks. However, the network relaibility is low. Its some or other links are always in fault.
The links which are good, he destroys himself. How? Mr. Reddy got help from Dr. Guntaka Reddy of University of Tennissee, USA when he did not have money even to feed his family a square meal. The help was both teachnical and financial. It was Dr Guntaka Ram Reddy who helped develop the first clone of Heptitis B vaccine in Pitchia Pastoris. It was a free reaserch work donated to him by his friends. Today, what he claims his own child and in what he takes pride (ShanVac B vaccine) actually is a child of someone else. Who really developed the clone of the vaccine? It was purely efforts of Dr Guntaka Ram Reddy and the scientists in his US Lab. It was his lab which was used for developing this product free of cost. It was the brillience of Dr Ram Reddy that the product could see the dawn of the day. Finally what happened to Guntaka Ram Reddy? Mr Varaprasad Reddy kicked him unceremoneously. His fee was not paid. The money borrowed by Vara Reddy from his nephew was not fully paid. Vara dumped him in a rottened trench. what was the result? The han which laid golden eggs was killed. Who was in loss? It was Vara. And what was the loss? The loss was that he could not produce any product like Hepatitis B Vaccine again. Why? Becasue he shown an attitude of utter dishonesty towards a professor who is a great soul. I am sure, if Vara read this message, he will realize the mistake he committed. He may still not agree becasue today he is a multi millionire. But internally he will know what he lost in this process. Mr Reddy, the greed does not pay. You have grown up too greedy too fast, you are indulged too much in unethical practices in a field which is quite ethical. Should you be here in this industry? More in next time.
