Why did I go for Asian paints?
These were the questions that I thought of when I wanted to paint my house:
- Where do I find painters I can trust?- Will they over charge me?- Will they be accountable to the job?- How can I make sure they will complete the job properly?
I don't have experience in hiring painters or people who do other such things for the house - plumbers/ electrician etc. Usually, we go by word of mouth and I am not comfortable with word of mouth recommendations. And, I have been cheated in the past by local painters who didn't do a good job.
I have been seeing Asian paints home solutions ad for some time now and I wanted to try it out. This is how it worked:
- I called their Call Centre2. The operator asked for certain details - contact details, type of house, age of house, what did I want to paint(interior exterior) and when I wanted to commence3. Next day, two executives contacted me and confirmed timing to visit and take measurements+ give a quote4. They turned up as promised, measured the wall(they didnt bring a measuring tape. I had to give mine) and gave me a signed, paper quote for the painting job5. They told me that 100% of the amount has to be paid by cheque before the paint job starts.6. I told them that Ill review and get back to them7. Since the price was OK and it included everything - paint, labor cost, tools etc, I confirmed and paid the amount by cheque8. Next day, as promised, two painters turned up and started the work. They washed the walls, painted primer and then when it started raining heavily, they took a break9. After the rains stopped, they finished the job by painting the wall with Asian paints apex weatherproof emulsion10. The day when the work finished, the two executives turned up again and confirmed that the job is done, but I have to pay more because the actual area painted was 100 sq ft more than the initial quote.11. Though, I was not happy with this, their measurements were correct.they had painted the sunshades and parapet walls as well. So, it was definitely 100 sq ft more than the plan. So I gave them another check.
They said that Asian paints will contact me again to take my feedback. Its been 3 days and they have not called yet
My overall impression: I AM SATISFIED and I RECOMMEND
