I had hired asian paints home solution to paint 2 walls in my hall.
Knowledge of service personnel -
The first person to come home was naveen. He showed us a lot of designs and booklets which he had.
Astonishingly, he told that the existing color of the wall in my house is pink.. I was very sure that it was not pink. While applying the paint, the painter told that the paint which was already there in my house was not pink but half ivory white. The painter even took the color shades which he had and matched it with the wall color and proved that it is no where near to pink. Even for an ordinary man like me, it was known that the color of my wall is not pink, whereas the personnel working in asian paints home solution came to my home to tell me that i have a pink color wall.
Computer generated designs
One of the designs which naveen showed me was 'tropical'. It has a lot of leaves branching out from a stem. The design was so symmetrical and neat in the pamphlet he had shown me. I liked the design and requested naveen to have the same in my walls.
Even during the application of the paint, i realized that the design is no where near to what i saw in the booklet. The designs in the booklet are all computer generated and not actual pictures from the walls. Half of the time the roller didnot press entirely on the wall. When i enquired about the same to the painter, the painter told that the wall is not even and because of the same the roller was not entirely touching the wall. My immediate question is which house in india will you find the walls straight.
Every wall in every house there will be slight inclination..there is no doubt about that. The designers of the design in their drawing board need to understand this basic fact that no wall in india will be flat and there will always be some inclination in the wall. The rollers will never perfectly touch the wall. If the rollers do not touch completely, the design is always half pressed on the wall. I checked again with the painter on how they were trained on doing these designs? The painter told that in all the training, the demonstrator used to have a straight wall chart paper to demonstrate the designs. Hare yaar.. Wall chart paper is different from the real walls.
Adding more salt to my wounds were the kinds of rollers used. The roller was used 13 or 14 th time, whereas the recommended usage is only 3-4 times. The roller was worn out on one side and the design was never complete even in one place. I kindly request the design team of asian paints to stop advertising tropical to any of their customers. Tropical is the one with leaves. The design team cannot come out with various designs without understanding the real application of the design in the walls. Chart papers are not different from the real walls. To the prospective customers, always remember that the designs shown are all computer generated and not manually taken from the actual walls.
I complained once to the same person. He came home with his manager to have a look at the walls.
The manager told that they will redo the walls for me. The manager even regretted for all the inconvenience caused. He told he will have someone come to my house in the next 2 weeks. No one turned up for the last 3 months.
Go for your local painter, he might have better designs and ideas than beleiving in the coporate company.
