I have had experience with Beam way back in 2000's in Himayatnagar, Hyderabad, when they offered cable based internet service for home and had to discontinue that for terrible after sales support. Since then I use Airtel and am happy as their customer service is unbeatable. The up-time of Airtel is 99%+ most times. Any maintenance is well communicated and relayed to the users.
Beam got reorganized and came back with a bang the last few years and has been offering blazing speed internet service. For my second home and my company again in Hitch City, Hyderabad, I choose Beam - home and enterprise service connections, assuming they may have improved. I fell for their high speed offerings again. Though sales folks sweet talk they forget you once you commit to them after payment is realized. After having spent sufficient effort in setting up the connection and getting started one normally is forced to continue. Hence this caution to the general public considering Beam Telecom.
Truly the speed is amazing but there are frequent down times. The availability is a major irritant and occurs exactly when you need it the most. Add to that the customer service which is of lowest grade I have ever seen. At home I can ignore and can put up with these shortcomings but what surprises me is that for my enterprise class service too it is no different. Frequent downtime, technicians often quoting wrong reasons for issues, repetition of similar issues, no learning from mistakes, unable to scale up to the demand, "i don't care" attitude of their top honchos when approached for readdress are common.
On the whole I would give them just 6 on a scale of 10. If you have options then you must certainly weigh them before choosing Beam even if the option is expensive.
