First off, this is a serious movie, and may even encroach it's way into the drama genre. I expected just a bit to the contrary, probably because the last movie I had seen was DEADPOOL.

You guys already know that I hate giving out spoilers and rather try to concentrate on everything else except these in my reviews. This review will also move along the same lines.

Now that that's done, let's get on with the movie. As I have already mentioned above, the movie is pretty serious and sets the tone from the first scene. The movie begins where'Man of Steel'(Remember the movie which brought back Superman, with Henry Cavill playing the lead role?) left off, kind of like a sequel. If you don't remember the movie, or had skipped it, I would suggest you watch Man Of Steel before watching this one.

To be honest, the first part of the movie was a bit of a drag. A truly necessary  build up to the more exciting, action laden second part, yes. But still the story seemed to be moving too slow, with my friends yawning intermittently. This might have been particularly because we had all expected the movie to be an all out action one. In the first part, one is introduced to Batman, who is now middle aged. This is one Batman who isn't afraid to kill people.(Finally!) You get to see both Batman's and Superman's point of views post the aftermath of the climax of Man of Steel, with each's stand seemingly justified.

The second part entails the big moment we have all been waiting for. yes, the big fight! Pretty much everything else that happened in the second half is quite hazy. oh wait! The second half also has the entry of Doomsday amidst all the cool fighting and stuff.

Ben Affleck steals the show with his portrayal of Batman. Truly one of the best portrayals of the roles I have seen till date. Henry Cavill reprises his role as Superman, a hero who is oft misunderstood, and how he deals with the same, alongside the support of Lois, the dynamic reporter of The Daily Planet(reprised by Amy Adams).

Jeremy Irons' role of an oft sarcastic Alfred is a delight to watch and brings to limelight the as-of-yet undermined character.

Wonder Woman, portrayed by Gal Gadot, is a sight for sore eyes(;) and lives up to the role with elan.

Jesse Eisenberg plays a delightfully perfect Lex Luthor in the first half, though his efforts seem to be over-dramatized in the second half, with many of his scenes seeming as if they were forced.:/

Albeit many of the reviews I read before seeing the movie were in the negative, I must say that I was completely satisfied with the movie. The movie still stands strong despite a few cliched sequences.

It might have been much better if DC had revealed less about the movie in the trailer. and also if they realized that not everyone who watches the movie is an absolute DC buff, and leaving around Easter Eggs for people who have no idea what you are trying to say doesn't really help much. I, or my friend rather, had to research(read: He Googled it) about the movie to realize what a couple of the scenes meant. That's not how it's done DC! There is a fine-drawn line to subtlety.

Oh. I almost forgot to mention. The music is mindbogglingly awesome. Hans Zimmer has outdone himself yet again. The music is so amazingly perfect, it seems as if the movie was made around the music, rather than the other way round. I just cant wait to get my hands on the official soundtrack!

If you are a fan of superhero movies, don't give this one a miss.

Despite all the negative reviews out there, I would whole-heartedly suggest this movie to anyone.

Waiting with bated breaths for the next installment in the series.
