Barsaat-A Sublime Dud Story. Review on Barsaat -2005 Bollywood

Why I choose the movie to be reviewed as I have watched the movie just half hour ago and want to write about it. So much hype created by Mr. Suneel Darshan e.g. A Sublime Love Story, Best Music Ever and etc. I was thinking at the moment when watching the movie that movie maker can’t think what they are producing. Then the answer strikes into my head Yeh movie makers don’t think before making a movie these days they just invest in the publicity and try to get enough audience in first or second week which give them back their returns and some profit. I came to this conclusion after reading the slogans Running Successfully Allover Yar Dus Ghante Hue Nahin Aur Running Successfully. What rubbish is this? People can be made fool before the release but the audience who watched the movie can’t be fooled more. So why they give slogans like this. We can take the example of the Latest DUS and slightly older Bunty Aur Bubbly, first one Slogan “Iss Saal Ki Pehli Universal Hit” the next one with Slogan “Poora India Jhoom Raha Hai Jis Ki Adaoon Se, Iss Saal Ki Sab Se Badi Hit”. If these two are declared hit then audience is fool. I think these both movies are just below or some way near average and to join them this Sublime Love Story (Barsaat) is released.

My Feelings Before Watching the movie

Bipasha-Bobby-Priyanka a BBP drama with some good music which is already hit in the market. The movie promises a good Producer/Director who has mostly produced family movies with some good relationships definition. He set his stage again with a reasonable team of BBP(don’t take it as big blue print reminds you). Barsaat not only promises all these but all reminds an Oldie Goldie Barsaat by Raj Kapoor. Which is said to be the trend setter in the Indian Film Industry? So that Jiya Beqrar is till today beqrar for such good and thoughtful style of moviemaking. Another big issue related to the title is Bobby’s relation with Barsaat as he entered in 1995 with this title. Since then Bobby has some good movie in his bucket still to fetch some greater hits like his father and elder brother has done. Then Barsaat was declared a Flop but its music was a success story then and today too its music is successful. Hype was generated through these factors and in my mind it was a thought that if Bobby has done mistake in 1995 he is 10 years old now so he can’t make the same mistake.

My Feelings After Watching the movie

Hype was there and before watching the movie I had also read the reviews on the movie by Taran Adarsh and his super rating were also under my eyes but as you know he is trade analyst he see movies critically to find only the mistakes in those movies. Moreover I also read some reviews on Barsaat Movie before watching it and I found that it would not be that bakwas as it was to after reading the reviews. I divided the story in two portions

1. Bipasha-Bobby

The movie started off very well with a good pace and with a nice introductory style as a good movie must have and I started discharging those points which the reviewers have pointed in the movie and my ratings for the movie started rising. Till Bobby gets a call to come back India the only point proved right by the reviewers was Placement of songs. Yeh they were awful such good music was given such treatment. Unbelievably the song which was famous as Shaadi Song was picturized in a thick fashion that it becomes the first scar on the movie’s name. the placement of the song can’t be justified by any means. Then the song Mushkil song comes in a Mushkil Waqt when the movie is to maintain its pace it spoils the whole plot. If the director had omitted the song and defined the story that could be a good way. Ache Bhale Song Ko Mushkil Main Daal Diya. The third song Pyar Aayaa come in the screen and you say why the love comes its picturization was done in a sure hurry. No time to bring a song in a story which already broke its path. The first portion suddenly ends with this song and Bobby has to go back to India.

2. Bobby-Priyanka

The second portion starts with another song but this time the song fits the situation. Aaja Piya.. Tujhse Milne ki Chahat hui hai. This creates many story at a time in your mind one can be She is a Bachpan Ki Dost who loves him and waiting desperately for him. Second she is engaged with him and waiting for him to marry him. Or never seen him before and parents have settled their wedding and so she is waiting for her Saajan. Now here Suneel Darshan has flown over every thought you have developed, she is already married to Bobby and bobby left her before going abroad. Well my first impression was that either it’s the editor’s mistake of any other technical problem. The story must be told earlier or in some different style could be a better idea but suddenly a wife comes into play. Then started another story she wanted to come near him but he refuse her, all the time and force her, to divorce him as he has to marry Bipasha. Family members of Bobby try to make a patch between them but fail. Then suddenly the Ek Rishta seen appears and friends sitting together to have chit-chat on a mountain and asking a riddles to each other then same formula a riddle between hero-heroine and a song to follow. After all these formulas another pitta hua idea applied Bobby went to Priyanka’s house there found her Grandma’s photo hanged in the wall with phoolon ki mala and literally start weeping and ask why she didn’t told him about her death and another turn in the movie comes when Bobby try to financially help Priyanka by showing sympathy and she show her back mean back of house where she have a small dyeing factory. Now this shot was amazing and quite impressive too that now there is no doubt remaining in the movie to declared a dud, still the show is there and Miss Bipasha come to India and even the stage for wedding is set and final song of Saajan Saajan Teri Dulhan Sajaoon Gi also blows in and after that another turn comes when the Lawyer to whom the Divorce Papers were sent by Bobby comes in and says that divorce papers are yet to be signed by Bobby so it give a feeler to Bobby that he has to return to Priyanka and which do and the end Shree Krishna Productions Distribution and Sales and Service Auto Parts Blah Blah and much more displayed at screen and I say ok that is the end. The movie has so many turns that I was expecting that Priyanka even will play her part to join Bobby and Bipasha but the director wanted to make BP not BB so that is the End of the story.

My Review

Don’t waste your time after reading this discussion please don’t go and watch the movie and if you are very much impressed then wait for a week and the songs will be available on DVD’s & CD’s so get them they are worth keeping other rubbish is not to be considered.
