If anybody doesn't know who he is he is major league baseball player for the san francisco gaints, full name is barry lamar bonds born on july 24th 1964. Barry holds many major league baseball records, including most homeruns in a single season , he hit 73 homeruns in one season, nobodies every topped 60 for hitting that many homeruns. barry bonds at this stage has 717 homeruns and hopes to beat the record of hank aron who has hit 755 homeruns bonds might beat him if he plays a another season. He has been mvp 5 times in hsi career
Bonds also has stolen 506 bases and his slugging average is around .609. Bonds father was also a former all star in baseball , bobby bonds bonds choose the same path as his dad and went into baseball. BOnds has went to arizona state university and began his baseball career in 1986 with the pitsburg pirates. He was the 6th overall pick in the draft. In 1993 bonds left the pirates and signed a 43 million dollar contract for 6 years with the san francsico giants with whom his father also spent his 7 years in.
IN the year 1997 bonds was ranked number 34 in the list of 100 great baseball players, I think bonds is one of the most unappreciated players of all time, he's far greater then players like ken griffey jr, mark mcgwire. by the year 2000 bonds was regarded as a future hall of famer but it was in his old age when he became a homerun hitting machine. in the year 2000 barry acheived career high 49 homeruns putting up these numbers he practured his thumb, the injury cost him the mvp award .
In the year 2001 barry's 6 six year contract was about to end with the giants which he extended and barry became more finicky at the plate then ever, he didn't swing at anything that he didn't belt out the park. barry is known to hit most of his homeruns out of the park in the ocean behind the san francisco stadium. Homeruns and walks became piling up for barry and finished the year with 73 homeruns an all time record. barry also walked 177 times to break babe ruth's 79 year old record.
In the year 2002 barry only hit 46 homeruns, because teams wouldn't pitch to him and just let him walk, because they were scared he would just hit a homerun he had an all time record high 198 walks and established an all time high on base perctenage of .582. barry became the oldest baseball player to .370. The year 2003 was also a fine year for barry he had 45 homeruns 90 rbi's and .341 average barry played with knees and hands ached and he played with a sprained ankle as well. Barry;'s father passed away also in 2003 and missed two weeks of baseball.
Begining of the year 2004 season was filled with controversies for barry, it was said that he was one of the several athletes including jason giambi, garry shefield etc bonds used drugs, steroids before he played any game and that how he hits all of his homeruns, but that story got weaker and on march 7, 2006 sports illustrated published a story indicating that bonds had used steroids in 1998. Bonds believes people this was published and people are racists, because he is black nobody cared for any other people breakings records, this was also done to michael jordan in the past as well. Bonds also has a show called bonds on bonds on espn where he explains about this problem and explains how good of he is a family man.
I also believe that barry bonds probably took drugs, but that doesn't mean he took drugs and did that, all other players would do that also. Barry currently has 717 homeruns and would probably brreak hank arons record by summer of 2007.
