Hi,
I have taken a barclays personal loan and been paying them very regularly . Due to income cut , 2 months ago I called up barclays and told that this is the case and I wouldnt be able to pay untill january 2010 and in jan I would settle it in full as I have some income to be recieved.
I was told to go to the branch and speak to the manager and they would definitely help me out.
I went to the branch and I met the branch person and told him the scenario on 17thsept
he told me that he would email collections and once they reply he would get back to me.
I waited and waited and the day for my payment came. I never got any call from them.
I spoke to my bank and did a stop payment , after 2 days immedeatly a collections executive visits my house; Dont you think that's RIDICULOUS.....
When we tell them and ask for help they dont bother, the day they dont get a payment they immedeatly visit you. I told him the case and he told he would speak to the manager and call me back.
He calls me up and says to come to the branch again and manager would speak to me.
I went to the branch , appointment was given at 11:00 and the manager he isnt bothered at all.
He comes to speak to me at 11 : 45 ,i told him the case , I also told him that my lawyer did tell me that speak to the banks first and if they are not willing to help then we would file some papers in the court and they cant demand for payment for 6 months .
And this manager tells me that there is nothing like that in law and he kows everything.
What he doesnt know is my grandfather is a well personalities and he's got friends in high court.
I could get a lawyer taht even barclays would think twice about hiring him.
Anyways that not the point here, I clearly explained the situation here and what comes the reply sorry there is nothing that we will do for u , we can only for sick patients like if someone has cancer , etc.....
I didnt get his bloody point , to stop paying him , IS he asking me to get cancer >>>>>
Never seen an arrogant fool like that.
Anyways , I told him january I would settle the account and all im asking is 3 months time for no payments,,,,,,,
Think about this guys , BANKS for people who vanish in to thin air and then after a year go to the bank and check banks willing to settle for 25% of the total outstanding.
People like us who approach thembefore hand and ask for some concession or time to payoff , NAH they wouldnt like to help .
What im gonna do about this.
Not gonna pay till january anyways.
They cant use force , if by any chance they do file a police complaint get the manager and the agent arrested and report to press.
Secondly once I stop paying , by the time they send me 3 legal notices it would be february , by when I would have my money and settle them and get done with.
Loss for barclays ,
My employment place is a very big organisation.
Would make sure that this would reach atleast my friends and friends of friends and department,
Even 5 to 10 people who wanted a personal loan from them and then not taking form them would be a good enough loss for BARCLAYS.
Then the review writter here would make people like you to think about it.
Even 5% of the people reading if they dont go with barclays , this would be a huge mistake that manager did in speaking to me arrogantly.
I would reccoment loans from SBI & canara bank.
They are the best.they dont harrass. Go to them and beforehand inform them and they would be happy to help and check alternate ways available.
Think before you sign on the agreement.\
