They are the WORST in the business of credit cards.No system of collection, they indulge in unethical and unfair practices like levying late payment charges even if you deposit the cheque well in advance say one week before due date, say that cheque not received etc etc and then keep harassing you.
All emails written to them come back with one line reply" please pay the outstanding amount". Once when their customer service wasnt responding , I used the lost card option on the call menu.I was be told by the executive who picked up the call that he couldnt help if the card was lost since the systems were down and I should call up after four hours!! Fortunately my card wasnt lost and I came to know how this bank works or else I would end up paying a severe price for a thief using it!
Their recovery agents call up four five times in a day and automatic systems call you up at odd hours late night , morning at 6am etc.They do this even though the law says that when a customer is available in the day time, they should not call after office hours and specially at home. Even if you speak to them or take their calls in the daytime during office hours, they still call you at your residence and use automatic caller systems ( to escape the law) and harass you. If you write a letter or email always a one line reply comes which says please pay the
outstanding amount, same goes for their customer care executives. They are also
rude and arrogant. This bank wrongly debited Rs 400/- from me without informing
me when I cancelled the card and though I had cleared all outstandings which
was told to me. Despite paying the figure told to me, they came up with a
figure of Rs 114/-( one hundred and fourteen) in the month of March 2008 after
I closed my dealings with them. For this amount of Rs 114/-( which they have
wrongly claimed )they have made more than 100 personal calls! and each time a different
person comes on the line listens to your story and then say you must pay the
amount !Rs 114 in march has transformed to Rs 3200 in August!! They have used automatic caller systems from all over India from about 20 odd telephone numbers , over ten calls a day at times. Till date they must have used automatic calling to give me over 700 calls till dateĀ and over 1000 SMS ! They continue to harrass me daily and every call hasĀ made me more determined to fight their cheating ways.
Though I have told them to cancel the card in March and that
I was not interested in using their services, they still continue sending
messages and calls and say that my account is suspended not cancelled. Hopeless
service and rude behaviour is their trade mark. Not just me but other people I
know also face the same problem.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS DONT USE BARCLAYS CREDIT CARD.They are
here to make money through unfair means and have no infrastructure or system for
customer service .Its not Barclays but should be called Bakwaas Bank! DONT EVEN LOOK AT THIS CARD DO NOT TOUCH OR HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THESE CHEATERS!
