Last Sunday, I went with my family of 8 to Barbecue Nation Gurgaon. To start with, the valet almost forced us to get out of the car for allowing him to park. He seemed over-enthusiastic in anticipation of the tip. This kind of aggressive behavior makes one suspicious of the staff right from the start.When we entered, the waiter, obviously not only uneducated, but untrained, obnoxious and uncouth, interrupted our conversation to take the order for drinks. I called for the manager to complain against the waiter, but he too seemed not educated enough to address my concern. This was downright unfair, since the drinks were charged extra and not included in the buffet cost of Rs.500/-. For the rest of the lunch that waiter was simply banned from our table, and another waiter served us. Then came the food, which was tasteless and certainly not worth the price tag of Rs.500/-.
The buffet spread was laid with stodgy, tasteless, leftover food, and the desert was not being replenished. The fruit platter was 90% empty and the 2 pineapple and papaya slices, and the entire lunch was simply ruined by this "cafeteria" like experience. I am sure the staff must be eating fresh food in their cafeteria and passing of reheated, garnished, leftover food to paying, unsuspecting customers!!To top it all, the valet who brought our car, wound down our windows, ran our AC in full blast and stood at my gate looking expectantly for tip. I paid him Rs.20/- for a service that I did not require and which was supposed to be complimentary.At the end of it all, I wish to advice others to refrain from going to this place, even if there is no other alternative.
