Not as good as I was expecting. I read the other reviews. My review is quite contrary. Those seem to be old reviews as well.
Cut to today - 21 - 4 - 2011. I visited the place sometime around last month. I have visited this place a few times previously. This is the nearest place to have dinner after we have drinks around. We reached there evening, spent some time at the pub below the restaurant(Apache), and went for dinner at around 10.30 pm.
I found the place quite disorganized. It works rather like a typical local restaurant rather than a professionally run restaurant.
The interiors are dull. The open part is not that comfortable and inviting too. They generally keep the AC switched off, the few times that I have been here. It was quite hot inside. The ambience is not good either. The managers and servers seem to be arrogant and rude, typical gaon walas. They seem to be from some "permit room bar" kind of place.
The service is hopeless. Shivsagar in Pune has better service, if service is what we are talking about(Shivsagar doesnt serve alcoholic drinks though). You have to call for the servers or captain many times. They even took 15 minutes to even give the menu, and it was not even crowded or something.
I found it too pricey for the kind of place it is. It used to be a good joint, but not now. It has degraded. The thing about Pune is that if a place starts doing well, the owners generally become complacent, rude arrogant and careless about customer service, ambience, food quality, pricing, etc the very factors that make or break a place. This is very common in Pune. Many places have fell victim to this mindset(Sheesha at ABC farms being a case in point. They even serve diluted drinks or mix cheaper brands. Have only beer at Sheesha).
