I passed out from new horizon public school in 2010 having studied there from nursery. I am not part of the administration or am I biased in any way.. but after reading some of the scathing reviews from a few parents(maybe justifiable) I personally felt that I should share my experience with you.
The name NHPS brings back only fond memories. I say this not because im being forced to do so but because that is the truth. I spent 12 years in this educational institution and I can honestly say that I am proud to be a horizonite.
Note again that this is my experience till 2010. I do not know the state of the school presently though. so let me begin. the teachers were excellent and thats the simplest way to put it. they were thoughtful, caring and never treated us like another child. they spoke to us when we wanted them and took in all our nonsense with hardly any bother.
i can personally endorse that 90% students passing out of this school are brought up in a right manner and that not many of them are bound to be spoiled. I personally received excellent backing in sports, although , volleyball and basketball are the only sports the school has qualified coaches for. the volleyball coach MR. SUNIL KAMATH is one of the finest around and is held in the highest regard by most coaches. I say so because I played under his guidance for 5 years and he taught me everything I know in that field. so a big thumbs up there!
dear parents, I know that the inflated fees in this school make other schools look like better options. but please, this is a down to earth school in the upbringing of its students. so if I maybe so bold, the end result will be priceless for just a few thousands that you'll have to pay now.
as to the admission hassle I can tell you that I know nothing about it as I was too young to remember. but I did discuss this with my parents and they told me that they did not have any problems with the admission. my mum actually rejected bishop cottons and frank anthony public school to put me here. and my oh my! I am so happy she took that decision. if there is a scam going on presently then it is a sheer pity. the name of the school is put in bad light and students dont get to study in this wonderful school just for the sake of money.
the infrastructure is very good. you may look at other schools and say that nhps isnt as big or glamorous as other schools. and you would be right. but the classes are clean. the canteen is very good(although oly veg which is a problem for carnivores like me). the labs are maintained well. there is an adequate ground. students are encouraged to take part in sports and other extracurricular activities. the annual day, teachers day, sports day really light the sky up! the faculty is very good(maybe was, I do not know). all in all, you are assured that you're child is brought up in a right way and is not spoiled.
i'd like to conclude by saying that I miss my school very very much and that I would give anything to relive my school days. i'd like to thank new horizon for all that they've done for me both education based and moral based.
so parents please do consider this school for you're young ones because you can rest assured that youre children are in the right hands
