I've been to this hospital since childhood, and I like the hospital because the cost of medical treatment is relatively low, most doctors are trustworthy and they truly care about doing their job well.
This review however, is to warn people going to the ophthalmology department. They'll charge you a compulsory extra Rs.100 for a computerized eye test(which gives an unreliable reading), and a nurse first tests your eye power by manually switching lenses and making you read a chart. The problem is that the doctor relies on the nurse's judgement and on the computerised eye test. Both of which are very likely to be wrong, because the nurse looks at the reading of the last time you visited, and adds an extra -0.25 or -0.5 to your eye power, without even bothering to ensure that it is the correct eye power. Please don't get your eyes tested at Baptist. They give incorrect readings which I was told, got them into legal trouble(which is why they made the computerised eye test mandatory).
This review is also to warn people of a retinal pore eye test they recommend. The nurse says that the retina of the eye may develop pores due to computer use(which I asked two doctors and found is nonsense. The doctors told me they've never heard of pores in the retina caused by computer usage). There's even a page about it: https://rationalizinganillusion.blogspot.in/2012/11/pore-in-retina-nonsense.html
Please don't go for this retina pore test. They're just doing it to make extra money.
