This is my favourite sweet shop in Kolkata and Bhawanipur branch is quite close to where I used to stay. So I always visit this shop whenever am hungry and wish to have some quick bites. These dishes are purely vegetarian and do not use onions or garlic in their food. Hence pure vegetarians who are in search of such a shop would really love it as there are not many such shops available in Kolkata.
This shop is extremely famous in Kolkata and such are the taste of the quick bites and sweets served here. Especially during the Durga Puja festival a long queue is found extending outside the shop.
The best thing I feel about this shop is that unlike other shops they have kept a camera insode their kitchen and they air the live footage of these clips in their shop. Hence customers get to see how their favourite dishes are being prepared. This also ensures the quality of food they prepare because they are confident enough to share it with the customer.
People don't just come here to have sweets but their quick bites are also equally famous and go out of stock very quickly. I come here in the evening and have my favorites such that I don't have to eat anything else for dinner. My favorites are vegetable chowmein with chilli Paneer curry. I personally recommend this dish at the Bhawanipur store. They you may try luchi and aloo dam, vegetable samosa, vegetable chop or noodles samosas which are steaming hot and extremely delicious. As far as sweets are concerned most of them are served hot such as hot Jalebi, gulab jamuns, kala jamuns, etc.
They also have a huge variety of sweets for diabetic patients too which includes types of sandesh and barfis. So we need not have to think twice before gulping down our favourite sweet.
Whenever there is a puja at home or any kind of special occasion I order sweets in large quantities for all my guests and friends and make them happy. The price is also quite affordable and so I don't mind ordering sweets from here in a bulk. Once you order the sweets would be ready, packed and delivered promptly.
I specially like to appreciate the patients of the attenders of this shop. Usually in the evening people come in bulks and order different types of stuff. The customers tend to be impatient and might shout at the attendars. But they including the cashier remains calm and polite and resolve all issues quietly.
So my overall experience and relationship with this shop has been extremely good . If you have a sweet tooth and in Kolkata then you must visit this shop and enjoy the tasty delicacies served there.
