Though it's origins were fairly shaky, Balaji Law College has in a way carved a niche for itself in the very few years since it's inception.
While most of the national law schools enjoy funding and infrastructure allotted to them right from the time when they are in their nascent stage, Balaji Law college has not had such luxury.
The college has come to notice of many professionals in the legal field mainly due to it's active participation in local, national and international moots.
While not many colleges can boast of sending students to international moots such as Stetson, Lachs, etc. in their formative years, Balaji law college has done so over the years.
The college has not won any of the international and national moots as yet but has done fairly well in state and national level moots.
Located near mumbai-bangalore highway, it now boasts of a pretty good campus with an infrastructure at par with any good law school in india.
Though the faculty is passable and not like the kind you would expect to get at colleges such as NLS, NUJS, NALSAR.but it does an ok job at teaching.
The only possible glitch is that since the college comes under the university of Pune, the subjects taught aren't as many and the curriculum isn't as flexible and up to date as what the other national law colleges have to offer.
Not much information is available about the college placements but most of the students have been placed in either Law firms or senior advocates or in leading LPOs, while a few have chosen to pursue higher studies.
I would not want to compare the college with established law schools like NLS, Symbiosis, Nalsar etc. But given the short period in which the college has made such remarkable progress.
It would be fair to assume that the college has great potential to excel.
