Determination of an Indian to reunite a stranded Pakistani girl on Indian soil, back to her parents in Pakistan.

Some of Salman’s movies have been disappointing in the past so much so that many had given up on this actor ever coming up with a sensible movie.  ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ would change this paradigm and win back all fans he may have lost.

Story: A speech impaired six year old girl'Shahida'(Harshaali Malhotra) from Sultanpur in Pakistan along with her mother visit Delhi to seek blessings & healing from a famed Dargah. On their return journey she briefly gets down from the Lahore bound train and is left stranded on Indian Soil. While the girls family in Pakistan are distraught and pray for her safety, their prayers are answered when the girl meets Pawan Kumar Chaturvedi(Salman Khan) a common man but a devout disciple of Bajrang Bali.

Cast: Performances of the cast across the board was excellent. Kareena Kapoor as ‘Rasika’ is Pawan’s fiancée and supports his intentions of reuniting the girl with her family. Sharat Saxena is Kareena’s dad and a wrestler. ‘Nawazuddin Siddiqui’ is a Pakistani freelance journalist with a dedicated cameraman and on the lookout for crisp interesting news. Om Puri is a Maulana at a Mosque in Pakistan.

Salman’s performance as ‘Bajrangi’ is brilliant and you will fall in love with his character. Harshaali Malhotra as the six year old girl is praiseworthy.

Direction: If you recollect ‘New York’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ you would agree that Kabir Khan is a creative Director with touch of Class. Being also the scriptwriter was complementing as the dialogues were very impactful demanding the attention of the viewer at all times. With amazing cinematography and seamless editing the movie was engaging till the end.

Songs: If you are not familiar with the songs and lyrics of the movie, it would help if you just hear it once since the visuals are astounding and the lyrics involve you emotionally.

Portrayed Pakistani views: It is easier to get an American Visa than an Indian Visa. Stories on hatred towards India are more sought after by TV channels than news on affection & compassion.

Conclusion: Whether you are a Salman fan or not, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is a must watch and reasons are ample.  You will not find a ‘Yawn’ moment. There is no showing off or going overboard. The drama is enthralling and will emotionally overwhelm you. You will love the upright and noble character of ‘Bajrangi’. It has enough stuff that could change the Pakistani civilian’s mindset if not the military. The 2 hours 45 minutes is nicely flavored with effective comedy and thrill. It has a shared, simple but impactful message for people from all religions & across borders.

Bottom-line: ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is the Bollywood ‘Blockbuster’ of 2015, highly recommended and not to be missed movie.
