According to me this was the best movie of 2015. It was an awesome, mindblowing one. Talking abt acting all the stars have given their 100% in this film. Especially Ranveer Singh's(Bajirao) acting was superb. He seemed to be lost in his charecter.
Priyanka Chopra(Kashi) also did a fabulous job. Deepika also did good(Mastani). I found this film to be very similar to Devdas. The main thing I liked was the dialogues(script). The set created was also nice. I'd say this movie is a must watch, you can watch it with anyone be it your family or friends.
Let me give u a brief summary of the story, this is how it goes- In the early 18th century, the Maratha Chhatrapati Shahu's court needs a new Peshwa, the equilant of a modern day prime minister. After Bajirao(Ranveer Singh) proves his weaponry knowledge and spiritual wisdom, and becomes the Peshwa. His wife is Kashibai(Priyanka Chopra).
One day the princess of Bundelkhand Mastani(Deepika Padukone) requests him to help Bundelkhand's king to fight against his enemies. After some argument he agrees. In between the war Mastani began liking Bajirao. She comes with him to his palace after Bajirao defeats the enemies. But Bajirao's family members don't even allow her to meet him coz she is partially muslim and partially Hindu.(Her father is Hindu Rajput and mother is Muslim).
She is treated very badly but one day Bajirao comes to know that Mastani is present in his state. He goes to meet her where she was kept and Mastani tells her abt her wish to marry him. He marries her but says that he can't bring her to his palace coz the specific customs and traditions. He orders to build a special palace for her. Want to know more? Why don't you watch the movie? I don't wanna spoil the suspense. You shud watch the movie to know that. Otherwise I'll spoil your suspense.
I'd say it's a must watch. The film has been directed very beautifully by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I liked only two songs, Deewani Mastani & Malhari. Others I didn't find to be that gr8 coz they were based on an entirely diff. culture. The end is a little bit emotional, but yeah seems to be real. unlike some other bollywood movies in which the leading actor can never die. Overall it's a good movie. And if u r a fan of Maratha culture then this may impress u.
If I compare it with Dilwale, I'd say Bajirao Mastani way way better than that. Dilwale was a very boring flick but this one was not at all.
