Dear Friends,

I have owned Wind 125 bike for last 2 years and 4 months & currently my meter reading is 15200 kms. I am fully satisfied with this product. I will not discuss the bike's technical specification as this is a fact sheet that can be seen in official website of bajajauto. I will share my experience with this bike with you all. I will categorize the same as follows:

  1. Looks

  2. Pickup

  3. Mileage

  4. Stability at high speed

  5. Maintenance

  6. Problems

  7. Conclusion

</b 1. Looks> The look of a bike is a thing which is the first thing which attract one towards any product. Look wise Wind 125 is one of the best product. It is nicely contoured and designed. It is truely world class. The best part is that it has different and fresh look. Seat is a little long one can comfortably accomodate 3 persons (of normal size) on seat. The sound of the engine is also empressive. It has a different tone. Hear it then only you will come to know about it

</b 2. Pickup> I am very much impressed with the kind of pickup it delivers. You will drive from 0 to 60 kmph within no time. (ask some one who is a pilion rider on your bike). This pickup is the best among this class (125 cc Group). No other bike gives you that kind of acceleration. The story is no yet over. As the peak power of this bike comes somewhat at higher engine rpm (close to 8000 rmp), the pickup is high even at higher speeds which is not the same with other bikes. <You can easily overtake any other vehicle with good pick up>. BUT IT SHOULD BE KEEPT IN MIND THAT DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEED REDUCES THE FUEL ECONOMY.

</b 3. Mileage/Fuel Efficiency> Ratting of this bike is reduced from fuel efficiency point of view. When I bought the vehicle it was giving me 57-58 kmpl. I was following the guidelines of the manufacturer not to go above 65 untill meter says 1000 km. But the moment I was above 1000 kms, I started driving above 70-75 and then I got bad mileage. I started to get between 44 - 49 kmpl. which is a drastic change. But I think if you drive at high speed, fuel economy is going to be affected badly. Now my bike has clocked 15200 kms. and if I drive between 55-60 I regularly get 50-52. which I think is a fairly good mileage for a bike with 125 cc + good power(10.8 bhp). My friend circle owns a variety of vehicle ranging from passion, passion +, Ambition, Victor, Victro GLX, Victor 125, Pulser. The range of experienced mileage is 55-60. Which is more than Wind 125. But the performance wise they are much inferior to WIND 125.

</b 4. Stability at high speed> The bike is very stable at high speed. I have tried upto 93-94 kmph. The bike doesnot even shake a little. I am interested to try even higher speed but road conditions are the limiting factors.

</b 5. Maintenance: The bike is low on maintenance. In last two years I have not faced any major problem with the bike. But I would like to mention one poiint here. At around 12500 kms I felt marginally reduced accelration. whhen I visited the service center. I was informed that my clutch plates are worn out. I was shocked to hear that news as normally clutch plates should last atleast 30,000 +kms. I dont know the reason of this but service center persons say that it may happen because of bad driving habits. But I am a good rider that much I am sure about. I think this must be because of bad clutch setting by the service station staff. (i remember my clutch was a little tight for atleast 1500 kms.) Any way lets see another 12500 kms. But overall the bike wont give you bad experience.

</b 6. Problems>: I would like to mention following points:

a. Vibration in the engine are on higher side. specially when you move above 65-70 kmph, a notable high pitched sound (wrooooooom type) comes. But probably thats not a problem because higher the speed, higher is engine rpm and higher is the noise of engine. but general vibration at lower speed is on higher side.

b. Low mileage but compensated by other plus points.

</b CONCLUSION> This is a good bike. One would like to own it. Once you drive this vehicle, you will surely forget other vehicles (within the same category. Pulser is even a better choice with considerably low mileage but better performance loke pick up, highest speed etc but comparision with pulser is not justified because it is 150/180 cc). This is a good city bike because of its pickup. At red light, results are aparent. Over all this is a vehicle with 5+ stars. Bajaj Auto has stopped production of this world class bike for indian cities, that is unfair. They should reconsider their decision. But the production is on for export purposes.
