Hi all,

<--------Updated review is as given below--------->

https://mouthshut.com/review/Bajaj_Pulsar-105313-1.html

I bought this handsome machine on 30th Jan 2006 after readin a lot of reviews on pulsar, cbz, Unicorn etc ... etc.I was very much confused between 150cc and 180cc which is the best or atleast which'll gimme best of wat I want.

Pulsar 180 was on my mind. But at the last moment I decided for 150 when I gt the newz dat I m posted 40 kms away 4m my residence.anywayz 150 dtsi is also the most powerful bike in its segment.

Till Now the bike has covered 800 kms and it needs its first servicin.Things I like abt this bike are:

1.Aggressive looks which includes addons like alloyz+mag wheelz+electric start.Nt present in Achiever,Unicorn,Fiero and Cbz.

2.Solid 180 style short handlebars.

3.Better gear shifts then its previous versions.

4.Better stability in 137 kgs.

5.Nitrox equipped shockers are good in potholes (but they cn broke the inner mud guard if pillion is heavy)

6.Most Important : Servicing is ultimate. Each n every mechanic cn eradicate its problem (if any).Spare parts are also cheap.Maintenance absolutely Nil.

Technically bike has a couple of vibrations but they sound good in higher speeds and rpms. The DTSi technology is delieverin good mileage of 50+@ 60kph and 60+ on Highwayz.

All above 5 points are nt in previous versions. This pulsar looks miles ahead from its predeccesors.

Things I dunt like abt pulsar

1.Performance.Wel the engine shows punch at Higher speeds but once I touched 90 kph the bike started loosin.Anyways shorter gear ratios make enough gap wid other competitors. However I'll raise its throttle after its servicing.

2.Not good for longer rides : Backache problem is still there.

3.Gear shifts are better but nt the best.Honda Unicorn has the best gear shift pattern.Pulsar gears slip frequently.

VERDICT:

Pulsar 150 is one of the most successful bike in India.Startin from its launch in late 2001 it has captured the market of 100-115cc which includes PASSION and VICTOR.And bajaj'z strategy is alwayz good i.e it mixes up its new techniques with other products. Like SNS suspension is now available in discover also.Exhasutec is now present in Pulsar too etc.The DTSi technology which offers good fuel combustion and more power thru digitally controlled 2 spark plugs (now in karizma too) is present in most of the Bajaj Products. But the main contradiction is bajaj is nt as much refined as Honda. Honda won't give best accessories and addons like bajaj but the refinement level and perfectness in Honda is still on Bajaj's achievement track.

But still from the consumer point of view Bajaj is the best bcoz its poducts are cheaper and offer good fuel efficiency then Honda. And who is concerned for bike's performance after 5 to 6 years. Is there anyone ? No. Pulsar is very common on roads but this all due to its unbeatable performance in every respect.

Lets wait for the new pulsar 200 DTSi-Fi (Fuel Injection->>Digitally controlled). And keep our fingers crossed.

Thats all from me.Go for Pulsar..Pulsar is the best
