Hi All,

Vasanth here again, thanx for all your feedbacks on my earlier post (in CBZ)regarding cbz and pulsar. Lot of water has flown down the drain since my last post. I took both bikes for test drives.

Pulsar 150 dtsi is indeed a reformed bike, but I disliked the riding posture, slightly bent forward due to the short handle bar, plus the all down gear shift is really painful. So I decided to eliminate pulsar from my list. Cbz* was most comfortable in terms of ride quality and comfort. But to my horror, herohonda has not reduced price of cbz. While pulsar 150 Dtsi disc is available for Rs 55000 on road, cbz disc is priced at Rs 58171 on road.

Pulsar 150 dtsi electric start with disc costs Rs 60000 on road, Cbz* electric start with disc costs Rs 64,720 on road! I was taken aback by herohonda?s arrogance towards competition. Forget pricing your product below competitor?s price, they should atleast have their price equal to competition. I even chided Prakash motors (dealer in bangalore) for hero honda?s pricing and he said he was helpless as it was company pricing.

Newayz, I enquired with Honda motorcycles india (planet Honda Dealer for Honda in bangalore) and they informed me that Honda?s 150 cc bike will be released by september 1st week, they didn?t comment on pricing and bike name. One of my friend who knows a person in honda told me that honda 150 cc bike will be priced at Rs 52000 on road with electric start and disc. So I have to wait and see what honda brings in to market and I will go in for honda bike if it is really good and better than cbz. If honda bike is not so good, then I will wait for herohonda to reduce their cbz electric start with disc price to around Rs 60000 after honda bike hits the market. So there you have it, it?s either honda or herohonda for me.

Do leave your comments.

Vasanth

PS: I almost forgot to include another important info. I had mailed overdrive magazine asking them if cbz* was a new bike with glitches of old cbz fixed (rumours about new carborettor) Overdrive responded to me, their mail stated that cbz* is till the same old cbz, herohonda has just given cbz* new paint job and stickering, not new carborettor or any such thing.
