I am a pulsar rider from past 3 years, its a great bike heavy, muscular, good mileage, etc.it is made for Indian roads. They have a wide range of in this category from 135cc the most recent one to 220cc. they have got a very wide range of them.
But the main problem with pulsar or generally with Bajaj bikes are, they are not of good quality, the bike parts are not of good quality when compared to TVS or Hero Honda or Yamaha. Bajaj's competitors provide a better quality which really matters a lot when it comes to maintaining a bike for a longer duration.
My pulsar 150cc DTSi is almost 3years now and from its 1st 6months the bike had one or the other problem like first LED's of tail lamp got spoilt and there some problem with the switches which are really of very low quality and then there was some problem relating to the wiring of the indicators, etc.
Bajaj has aimed at making bikes at cheaper price than its competitors which has directly effected on the quality of its bike. They have used lower quality of parts only to make it available at a cheaper price. No doubt it gives very good mileage but now with release of TVS Apache 160 Fi which is much more powerful and gives very good mileage(for its 15.7 BHP, 160cc) and is made of relly very good quality compared t o any bajaj bikes.
Even though TVS and Yamaha bikes are a bit costlier than bajaj bikes they are worth it. Low maintenance, good mileage, very good quality, etc. If you are looking forward to buy a good bike for a cheaper price the any time Pulsar is recommended.
