Hai, I have bught my pulsar DTSi 22 months back on 2006, Deepawali. It was basically my brothers choice.
I am writing this review after driving 87, 000 kms.Few points I would like to tell you about its mileage and maintenance done till date.
1)rear brake shoe were changed at 20, 000 kms each.
2)front brake pads were changed at 25, 000 kms each.
3)rear tyre was changed at 40, 000 kms.
4)chain set as well as clutch plates were changed at 45, 000 kms.
5)Second time chain set was changed at 82, 000 kms(that means it was changed earlier than previous mkt.But it was purchased from open mkt.
6)And now at 87, 000 kms engine work is being carried out(piston.ring & cylinder).
I just want to get you aware about the kind of low maintenance the pulsar is having as compared to any other 150 cc or 100cc bike.
Second and the more important thing is about the mileage of the bike. When driven at a constant speed of 45-65 it gives you mileage betwwen 55-75 kms per litre.I got the mileage of 70 kms per litre for approx six months when diving at a constant speed of 50-60 kms.
I got the mileage of 75 kms/ltr for 15 days.
ELSE IT WAS ABOVE 55 KMS/LITRE.( driving at a variable speed of 50-80kms/hr)
jUST BEFOR ONE MONTH, LAST 5, 000 KMS IT GAVE ME MILEAGE OF 50(when engine required maintenance).THESE PERFORMANCES ARE AS PER HIGHWAY DRIVING AS I DRIVE AROUND 160 KMS A DAY.
Low maintenance and excellent mileage are the few features I loved.
As always, there are few negative points. The gear shifting is not as good as unicorn or any other bike.Sometimes you may got angry while driving and may kick the gear liver in anger.
Else you can judge by my experience.
