I have a Pulsar 150 DTSI, which I bought in June 2004, I wanted a 150cc bike & at that time only Pulsar 150 & CBZ Star were available in the class, CBZ star looked hideous with that livery & it had fuel consumption issues like all CBZ's, so my choice was Pulsar 150 dtsi, it looked cool & was the IN thing during that time. Too bad Unicorn was yet to be launched :( :(

First few servicing went fine & the bike went well, I took all the care, like the 'run-in' stuff etc BUT the problems started soon, the servicing bills went up, till date I have spent Rs 15000 on maintenance & repairs & I haven't still replaced rear shocks & the tyre, that will only add 3-4k roughly  to that sum.. My bike has a mileage of 35000 kms. I have had no accidents..

I personally feel that 15k is a lot more for just servicing & just to keep the bike running. I have had the chance of riding various other bikes for some long runs & I must say, Pulsar is at the bottom when it comes to built quality, material, handling as well, and brakes suck big time, plus all the common Pulsar problems that can be imagined. I just don't want to start with the cons. Its endless.. The only Pros that I have is the looks & Engine, its quite good & is always ready for harsh treatments.. Having said that it also needs a good complete package.

SO, i'll cut to the chase, don't go for it, bottom line is, its mediocore quality will only frustrate you after some time, at first you marvel at its bold features, bold punch lines, looks but ultimately it all comes down to how well it is built & how well it withstands ageing. Not to mention Indian roads & traffic conditions, dust etc...I guess its like those cheap use & throw ball pens, only difference being, those pens are cheap & Pulsar isn't cheap yet use & throw..

Its not worth the money you pay & spend later on..
