The bike was called on the terms of Definitely Male, but it had no stability. In India it started a revolution for 150 cc bikes with good, bold looks. I am talking about Bajaj Pulsar – 150 – the very first model which was launched around 2003-4. I bought a second-hand model, at Rs 18000. But soon I had to invest 5000 more for replacing tyres and other things.
One thing that constantly perturbed me until I sold that bike was: its spark plug problem. It was so nasty, often getting fused by hard kicks, as I hadn’t had self-start in that bike. I rode that bike for over a year and then one day I slipped badly at night – so badly that I had to sell it in 10, 000 bucks. Even after that, I enjoyed riding that bike but always remained unsure about its stability and the reason was clear: its tyres were slim not fat like today’s bikes.
The fuel tank resulted in groin injury for many of us. However, the styling of that bike was good but handling was poor. In that time ear the bike was good but not so good for long rides, probably meant for hard and very good riders. Also, I was a novice rider in those days. I tried with something that was not of my level.
