This is to warn to prospective buyers of Bajaj Pulsar 200 DTSi bike. Yesterday I witnessed an accident near IISc circle (B'lore). Two lads just applied brakes at the turn of traffic lights and it was shocking to see the bike literally going into several pieces. The front fork had ruptured and the entire engine/gearbox had scrapped the road for about 10 mts. One guy suffered injuries on his hands and one guy was lucky escape lorry fron the front. The guys collected about 15-20 pieces of bike which is unbelievable. The speed was also not too much it was only 45 kmph to 0 brake.

I stopped by and was surprised to see that the bike was brand new Pulsar-200 DTSi which had done just 730 kms (ONLY). So please be careful about the all new cheating bike from the Bajaj. The guys had earlier complained of bad steering and braking, Bajaj had not responded to fix the same...it seems, they were talking of taking legal action on Bajaj company. Please advice your friends as well, here is the news as available at

The companu is also not bothering to fix these issues according to the news. Don't get cheated by Bajaj, be careful.

Bajaj Auto continues to post falling sales figure

Indian two wheeler industry giant Bajaj Auto continues to post disappointing sales figures. Their April sales have gone down too and this is the third straight decline in company’s monthly sales.Bajaj sold 164, 304 motorcycles in April. This is a 13% decline from a year earlier. Overall, Bajaj Auto sold 190, 052 motorcycles, scooters and three-wheeled auto rickshaws in India and overseas last month. This is also down from figures of 212, 123 a year earlier.Bajaj as a result continues to trail Hero Honda in India which continues to lead the sales figures in the Indian market. Hero Honda also happens to be the largest bike seller in the world.Bajaj is currently scheduled to introduce a new motorcycle in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. This product would be manufactured at their factory in Aurangabad.

The company also seems to be facing quality issues with their recently launched Pulsar 200 motorcycle. Owners of this bike are reporting issues with shockers and oil leakage. Mails sent to the company’s service department does not result in any response.

Thanks, Take Care !!

Update 8th May 2006 : I got few M2M regarding number plate of the bike !!!, sorry I don't recall the number. I went to Khivraj B'lore on Friday to test ride P200 and see if there are any other issues with that bike- The bike has mad accleration, very sharp brakes and bike roars in 2/3/4 th gear. Robinson of Khivraj allowed me a 6.5 kms long test drive, it was fantastic but I felt it's stopping on brakes bit nervous. Then I went to the clearance bay to see one black P200 which has done 430 kms (with 'PRESS' sticker on it). When asked the mechanic he said there was 'gear problem' after 10 mins another mechanic said oil leakage due to seal failure in Engine :) . So I don't know where the accident bike went. Moreover Sommana of Khivraj said there was NO ISSUES with P200 till date anywhere in the country (which is totally FALSE) he said 250 P200s are booked in space of last 10 days.

And for people who want to decide something based on my review on P200, I SAY YOU ARE BEST DECISION MAKER. But if someone is interested in my personal feeling - I say BIG NO, I feel one has to lay hands on something close to perfect (if not perfect). P200 is not a perfect bike as of now, You'll witness few changes very soon (Bajaj's habit of upgradtion).

Thanks again,

Ilyas Mohamud
