I have been riding PULSAR since last 3.5 years. Started with150 DTSi & then upgraded to 180DTSi . Pulsar no doubt, has been the king of all the bykes in its category. However as everything has got some +ve & -ve points, so does this byk. This byk is one of the best in its category in terms of pick up. acceleration & mileage. However the new apache 180 stands a step ahead of pulsar in terms of pickup & speed as well. Although I m not an automobile engineer, however have got a lost of interest in bykes.
Being a speed freak I rate bykes in terms of speed. I used to rate Pulsar 180 the best in 180 cc category however apache has gone a little ahead of the game. Practically, on raod I have run my pulsarv 180 (2008 digital meter) @ 124 KMPH till now. But this speed is achievable after efforts. Mileage is 40 Kmpl which is good keeping power in mind.
The biggest -ve point which P180 has got is its cooling system which I m not very happy about. U cant ride it @ its top speed for a long as it may result in ceasation of the piston which ends up with an expence of 4000 Rs approximately. I have faced the music twice with both P150 & P180. So if u own a pulsar, dont stretch the enjoyment of the top speed for more than 15 mins, otherwise ur byk may end up with a smoking silencer asking for 4000 bucks. Rest is quite satisfactory. As per my experience with this byk I am satisfied with the performance. Cheers..!
