A Big Hiiiiiiiiii to all,

This is not exactly a review and this will benefit those who are owners of a pulsar more than who are planning to be one. I bought the PULSAR 180 DTS-i a few months back. I have just done 1500 km on it and it’s still new since my running is less. My bike is a combo of red and black. The shine and the charisma of red in combination with the fearsome black finishing of the alloys and the engine looks awesome. Red and black together give the bike a much more sportier look than the complete black one. It’s truly an attention grabber.

The bike comes loaded with features. It’s not necessary for me to write too much on thinga like pickup, acceleration, top speed etc as there are already several reviews on the site dealing with them. But for a brief description ,well whatever said about the pickup of the bike will be an underestimation of it. The only word that comes to mind regarding the pickup is mind-blowing. So KARIZMA you might be quicker than that jet in your commercial but you cannot JET SET GO past a PULSAR 180! From 0-80 never!!!

I cannot comment on the top speed though since as I already mentioned my odometer reads just 1500 till date. I have ridden the bike at a max of 80 km/h and the feel that I experienced from 0 to 80 was incredible. Road grip & braking are excellent. But one thing that really bothers me is the comfort. The rear shock absorbers simply don’t work if you are without a pillion and you do feel the jerks and the bumps if you are riding in poor road conditions. Surprisingly pulsar is a much more comfortable bike if ridden with a pillion. The NITROX do function effectively when you have a pillion with you. The front shockers however are good and function effectively whether you ride with or without a pillion Here is where the HONDA UNICORN scores over the Pulsar with it’s mono shocks. Unicorn is s really comfortable bike.

Now the most important part of the review.

MY PIECES OF ADVICE TO ALL MY FELLOW PULSARIANS.

1- Do not park your bike on the side stand during the rain since there is always a chance that water may accumulate or seep into the spark plugs causing it to shot when you try to start the bike.

2- Never use the electric start option if it has rained or if your bike is wet. Avoid using the same for early morning start ups , use the kick start option instead.

3- Most people who own a pulsar get that engine guard fixed on their bike. Please avoid it. It looks good but it has a serious disadvantage. The guard is fixed right in front of the engine and it covers up almost the entire engine. What it does is that it cuts down and limits the flow of air into the engine causing it to get heated up quicker and sooner than normal. This is more in case of the 180 since the engine is all black and black absorbs and gets heated up the fastest. Keep this in mind.

4- When the pick up of our bike detoriates we get worried and we ask the mechanic to chech everything the, carburetor, air filter, the engine tuning etc. But one thing that we overlook is the tyre pressure. Yes, it’s surprising but it’s very true, If the tyres don’t have adequate pressure in them the bike takes extra time to gather speed which gives us the impression that the pickup has gone down but actually it has not. So make sure you have well pressured tyres.

This is all I have to say I hope these points will be useful to you. Enjoy riding, we have made the right choice by getting a pulsar. We don’t give a damn to what others say all we know is that PULSAR RULES!!!!!!!!!.

Definitely Male,.

Saurav.
