@kineticlasergf170 is somewhat right in saying that the brakes DON’T hold. My Avenger also had shitty drum brakes. BAJAJ is renowned for hard gear, brake and rust issues BIG TIME. But still I got my Platina 125 cause it made sense buying the bike. Why? Read on.

  1. I barely visit the fuel stations now. Once every 1.5 months(approx) with daily running of around 50 kms between 55-60 kmph. I never raise above 55-60 unless in a hurry. Thanks to the economy button

  2. Shocks are SUPERB. This coming from an ex-Harley rider. Boy its sweet n smooth. BUT, if you sit for too long, like an hour or so, your bum may hurt a little:)

  3. Brakes as such are anywhere from pathetic to ok. I almost became ham slice behind a Mercedes once, which braked at 70kmph. I didnt skid even a bit, but I surely would have gone and sat in the Merc boot, if I didnt use my one leg down technique. phew! So I guess tyres are better than brakes:)

  4. Batteries! MINDA BATTERIES. has anyone even heard of such a company? I haven’t. No no not Ulhasnagar. Delhi based.;o) One year precisely and 7 days after the 3rd service, battery goes KAPUT! Service fellow blamed battery company, battery company blamed service fellow that they didnt replace water. Anyways, got the battery problem resolved in just 3 days. BUT and a big BUT. the electrics of this bike are so so so God damn powerful. the horn makes people(and me) deaf, the lights are so bright, I feel I am driving a car not riding a bike, same goes for the indicators and display panels

Some other tit-bits are head light gap, where water gushes in and shorts the headlights, the seat pulley costs 150 bucks but is a hair-thin cable. SNAP! the mirrors need tightening every 1 week, bike sputters with ECONOMY button on in reserve.

All in all, a good bike for responsible riding in the city and on the highway. AND a head turner! Every rickshaw driver, every other bike fellow has to see between my legs. It's really awkward at times.
